GTA IV soon :D

Category : Games, PC

It’s gonna be awesome, no doubt about that. I’m really looking forward to this epic game. Playing free mode with friends. Just goofing around, making stuff blow up πŸ˜€ The gta spirit!

I just hope the server browser and servers with 32 players will run quite smooth, cause there will be some calculations to be made when 32 users are driving around causing havoc :P.

One of the great new features compared to the game on consoles is the support for up to 32 players in multiplayer, instead of 16. And lets not forget the Video Editor they put into the game. This will give the creative minds out there a real boost πŸ™‚ I’m guessing YouTube will be filled up with stunts, shootouts etc.

At the moment the game is available on steam for pre-purchase, which also includes Vice City.

Release dates are 2 December for North America, and EU 3 December.

CarBiz, new tycoon style game from the maker of GameBiz

Category : Games

You might have heard about GameBiz 1 & 2, they have been out for a while. And are some great games, if you haven’t got the chance to try them you should.

But over to the latest game CarBiz, where your main goal is the be a successful car maker. And that can be very challenging from time to time πŸ™‚

You start out with selecting what year you want to start making cars in, usually it’s normal to start in the early life of the modern car as we know it, yes it’s the 1920s. Then you choose what region to fond your first sales office and factory in.

After that it’s over to where it all begins, you are in control of your own company! From here you can do whatever you want, you are in total control :). But the first thing on the todo list is to make a new model. You choose what engine and much more like suspension and safety (this is more important later on in the game).

To keep the competition up, or to just survive in the market. You need to research new designs for your cars, also new suspension, safety etc.Β  Cause no-one will buy a old and outdated car?

To keep up researching and producing cars you need workers, these can be hired and set to work.

From here one you need to set a price, you can also specify prices for each of the regions if got a sales office there. Cause sending cars to other regions costs more. As the weeks pass by you can view the stock market and check what value your company got, or buy other companies.

Later on in the game you can set up your own wind tunnel, to check the efficiency of your car designs. There is also a possibility to build a motorsportcenter. To participate in race events, hiring drivers and such.

I would really recommend this game, it’s very fun and interesting. And has keept me up some late nights, trying to be the most successful car company πŸ™‚

Demo can be downloaded here, and pro version costs 9.99 euro.

Some 3d models made with 3dsmax 2009

Category : Uncategorized

Yeah, I had to test out the latest 3dsmax. It’s been a while since I modelled anthing at all, since C# has taken some of my creativity time πŸ˜›

So, I found this old Athlon processor that was just laying around. Got my cam up and took some texture-photos, and fixed them abit in paint.net. Also modelled the ram chip that was taken out of my Asus EEE when I upgraded it’s memory: Well heres the result:

And one final of both the models:

Oh, and to make them lay around like randomly I used the reactor physics πŸ™‚

Just upgraded my pc!

Category : Uncategorized

So, it was time to upgrade my pc. Since my old Athlon 64 3500+ couldn’t keep up, also my 7800gt was to blame.

So I ordered a E8400, Asus P5E, 8800GT and a 4gig ram set. And I got a aircooling, yes my old watercooling is crap. And this time I want something safe, and cheaper. I was worried there would be too much noise, since I’d have some more fans in my comp-case. But it’s very nice, It’s the same noise level as with my watercooling. Only “problem” is the temperature, I get around 52 under heavy load.

But my 8800gt was like a big big big tornado spinning up! Much more noise then my old 7800gt, even when running at full speed. So I got a Zalman VF700-Cu, now thats one great cooler! It’s quieter and cooler, also it’s perfect for overclocking. Tried my card at 720mhz(600), but no big performance gain. πŸ˜›

Also got some rubber-thingys from eBay, to silent some 120mm fans. And it works very well, the vibration-noise dissapeared!

Anyhow, finally I can test Crysis at full πŸ˜€

Good C#/sharp tutorials!

1

Category : Uncategorized

When porting over, or starting with C# it’s a good idea to have some decent tutorials. When I went from VB I had no clue how to start with C#. So I googled some nice tutorials, and bookmarked them.

I’ve been using them for some time now, and some are better than others. Or I like some better than others, since I learned more from them. So why not list them here? πŸ™‚

The first tutorial/lesson I found was one covering the basics of C#. Gives a good overview of the basics, and doesn’t get too complicated. So it’s a nice and smooth start.

Then there is this one, it’s more focused towards the visual C#, and most of the examples got pictures from the IDE showing what to do. So it’s also a very good resource.

I also use C# Wikibook as a reference when it’s something I’m stuck at, which is quite often. But my main reference is of course the MSDN-Libary, it got everything!

Also there are some tools for converting VB to C# and C# to VB πŸ™‚ DeveloperFusion got this one, then there is one called CodeTranslator here. My experience with these are mixed, they might convert some basic code. But mostly it’s like using babelfish 0.1 πŸ˜›

Also if you want some damn good video tutorials covering most parts of C# & .NET then you should check out learnvisualstudio.net. It’s quite cheap and you get access to over 500 videos πŸ˜€ I’ve been member there for some weeks now, and it’s great! I find video tutorials easier to understand, and I can have them running while programming.

So this all is what I’m using to learn myself C#, and it’s going to take some time. I probably only scratched the surface at this point. If you read this, please leave a tip if you got some nice tutorials or other stuff about C# πŸ™‚

Program tip: KeyPresser 0.1

A friend of me was in need of a simple key presser. So I made one for him, and I just thought to put it on my blog for others to use. Maybe someone just needs a key presser? To refresh something or to annoy someone on msn?

Features:
Many different intervals for buttons to be clicked.
Custom buttons, lets you write you’re own button combination to be pressed.
Default buttons, like enter, page up etc.
Minimize to tray, hides it while running if you want.
Also logs how many keypresses made.

Of course it’s freeware, and you might download and share it as much as you want.

There are many uses for such an app.
