Iron Command – my real-time strategy game

I’ve been working on a game: Iron Command. It’s a complete real-time strategy game where you build a base, pump oil, raise an army and take the fight across land, sea and air. I wrote it with the assistance of AI, and it’s free to play.

Iron Command gameplay: jets and warships over the sea, with a base on the coast
Jets, warships and a base on the coast.

What’s in it

  • 23 building types, from Command Centers and factories to turrets and experimental weapons
  • 12 vehicles, 11 aircraft and 9 warship classes, including Prism Tanks, HIMARS, the B-120 Stealth Bomber, an Aircraft Carrier with its own air wing and the Dreadnought
  • 14 procedural map modes, from Archipelago to Fjords and Twin Continents, so every match is played on a new battlefield
  • 8 AI personalities that scout, make plans and drop the ones that aren’t working
  • 24 upgrades to research at the Tech Center
  • Singleplayer, a sandbox you can save, and multiplayer online and on LAN

Try it

Iron Command is in early access, currently at version 0.9.65. It runs on Windows 10/11 and Linux, and macOS is coming soon. All versions play together online.

You can download it from stigern.net/ironcommand, where you’ll also find the changelog and all the units and buildings. If you enjoy it, you can support development on Patreon or Buy Me a Coffee.
