And want English firmware?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well, I did!<\/p>\n<p>Seems like sellers are shipping their routers with different firmware&#8217;s. Some come with Chinese only and some with a option to change it to English if it haven&#8217;t been done already.<\/p>\n<p>If you are one of the unlucky ones who got one with Chinese language only, keep reading! I&#8217;ll show you how to flash your router and change it to English. This guide is for the mini version of the Xiaomi router, the one powered by a micro usb.<\/p>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t bought one, I can recommend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aliexpress.com\/item\/XiaoMi-WIFI-Router-English-Version-300Mbps-Roteador-Youth-Version-WiFi-Repeater-Open-WRT-with-Remote-APP\/32474833850.html\" target=\"_blank\">this seller<\/a> as that unit came with English firmware.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s move onto the guide:<\/p>\n<p>Download <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/youth_r1cl_all_2.2.94.rar\" target=\"_blank\">english firmware<\/a> and keep it somewhere on your disk.<\/p>\n<p>Then logon to your router, it&#8217;s default address is 192.168.31.1, now\u00a0you will see something like this:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/images\/2015\/xiaomi_wifi\/guide1.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"262\" height=\"330\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Proceed by pressing the blue button, and this will show up next:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/images\/2015\/xiaomi_wifi\/guide2.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"314\" height=\"345\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the first text-box you enter WiFi ssid, and second box is WiFi passkey. The click\u00a0the button to proceed to next step.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/images\/2015\/xiaomi_wifi\/guide3.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"286\" height=\"318\" \/><\/p>\n<p>First text-box is the router &#8220;location&#8221;, really not important. Whats important is the second one, which is the login password for administrating the router. The check-box underneath is to copy settings from WiFi, which makes the password for login exactly the same as WiFi passkey. Not recommended, and should be something else! Then click the button to proceed to next step, router will now restart and show a orange led, wait until it&#8217;s blue and refresh, or reconnect if your on WiFi.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/images\/2015\/xiaomi_wifi\/guide4.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"325\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now login with your password. Then click arrow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/images\/2015\/xiaomi_wifi\/guide5.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"832\" height=\"483\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You will now click the second text up in the middle of the screen, which is highlighted in white bold text. Second click the orange circle. Then the first button (grey button) under the version number in blue.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/images\/2015\/xiaomi_wifi\/guide6.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"279\" height=\"210\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now choose file and select the English firmware, and click the blue button to upload it to flash memory.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/images\/2015\/xiaomi_wifi\/guide7.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"307\" height=\"248\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It will now show this while it&#8217;s upgrading to new firmware, give it some minutes. The led will turn orange again and blue when it&#8217;s done. It might actually be in English when you logon next time, but if it&#8217;s not I&#8217;ll show where you can change it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/images\/2015\/xiaomi_wifi\/guide8.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"833\" height=\"222\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Navigate to the same page where we found the firmware upgrade button, but this time scroll down to the bottom.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/images\/2015\/xiaomi_wifi\/guide9.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"415\" height=\"598\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There should be a drop-down text-box which you can select English language, and it will change to English!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stigern.net\/images\/2015\/xiaomi_wifi\/guide10.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"804\" height=\"154\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You now have a English Xiaomi Youth mini router!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Well, I did!
